Complete Passion for Performance
Katie started dancing and preforming at the age of 4, regularly competing in festivals, shows and competitions throughout the UK. Katie trained in all aspects of dance and musical theatre and received for IDTA Theatre Awards prior to embarking on her dance teacher training at the age of 17.
During her teacher training, she was part of a National touring show of ‘Dirty Dancing’ and it was there she caught the performing bug and decided to pursue vocal training at a professional Theatre School. Katie began her professional training at Phil Winston’s Theatre Works in Blackpool learning everything from commercial jazz and street, to ballet, tap, singing and musical theatre. After two years in Blackpool, Katie sustained a serious knee injury which meant reassessing her studies. It was at this point she decided to pursue her passion and talent for singing and musical musical theatre which lead her to training at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
Following Conti’s Katie went on to train as a sports therapist to gain a further understanding of dance and sports injuries, rehabilitation, nutrition, massage and personal training. Following this she embarked on a year-long trip to Australia before returning to the UK and landing a job with one of the UK’s most well know agencies, Katie is passionate about teaching and now balances teaching dance alongside a job in PR/Marketing and is a mum to two young girls.
